Since 1984

Fahn’s Asphalt was founded in 1984 by Larry Fahn. Before starting the company, Larry spent more than a decade perfecting the craft of asphalt paving while working for Empire Sand and Gravel. Through years of dedication to his trade, Larry built lasting relationships with his customers, employees, and the community—relationships that would eventually bring us into his life.

In 2005, Jon began hauling asphalt for Larry at Fahn’s Asphalt, and the two quickly became close friends. Over many years of working side by side, Jon had the privilege of learning every aspect of quality pavement construction from Larry—from preparation to finishing touches and everything in between.

Larry proudly owned and operated Fahn’s Asphalt until his unexpected passing in February 2021. Later that summer, we had the honor of purchasing the business from his estate. We are incredibly proud to carry on Larry Fahn’s name, legacy, and commitment to quality by continuing to grow the company he built.

We are also excited for the opportunity to involve our own children in the business, allowing them to be part of the same work ethic, craftsmanship, and values they watched their dad and Larry share over the years.

We look forward to continuing to serve Billings and south-central Montana by providing honest, dependable, and high-quality asphalt paving and seal-coating services—while honoring the legacy of our friend, Larry Fahn.

We are Jon and Lev Ott, a husband-and-wife team with deep roots in Reed Point, Montana. Since 1999, we have built our life together around family, hard work, agriculture, and serving our community.

We are proud to have raised our four children—Jocelyn, Trent, Tyson, and Bodie—on the same ranch where Jon’s grandparents began their legacy in 1959. Growing up in a rural community taught us the value of hard work, integrity, and taking pride in what we do. Those values continue to guide us in both our personal and professional lives.

For more than two decades, we have worked together as co-owners of a construction company, building a reputation based on quality craftsmanship, reliability, and commitment to our customers. One of the greatest rewards has been watching our boys grow into capable young adults who now have the opportunity to work alongside us. Having our sons be part of the work we have built together is something we truly value and consider a special part of our family’s journey.

Our experience in agriculture, construction, and running a family business has given us a strong foundation for this next chapter. We are excited to bring that same dedication, attention to detail, and commitment to quality into our own company.
